Academic Achievement Award
This award is given to the athletic training student with the highest overall LSU grade point average at the end of the Spring and Fall semester. This award can be divided among those athletic training students who share an identical grade point average.

Award: $500.00 cash award to be paid in the Fall and Spring semesters

Doc Broussard Athletic Training Student of the Year
This student has consistently showed exemplary performance in the classroom and in the training room. They have the qualities that will help to propel them as future leaders in the field of athletic training. They should serve as a role model for both the athletic training students in the program as well as the volunteer athletic training students. The applicant must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and be in the athletic training program for two years.

Award: One year full scholarship to include: tuition, fees, room, board and books. (If the applicant is a TOPS recipient, all scholastic expenses beyond what is covered by TOPS will be paid by the Athletic Training Department.)

Come Back Kid Award
This scholarship is given to the athletic training student who played an integral part in the treatment, rehabilitation and recovery of a student athlete's injury. The recipient must have become a vital part in the development and implementation the rehabilitation protocol. The injury sustained should have been potentially career ending or season altering for the athlete. The applicant will write a case study of the injury and their role in the rehabilitation process. The certified staff or graduate assistant athletic trainer will write a recommendation in recognition of this athletic training student's achievement. The student athlete involved will write a letter with regards to how the athletic trainer helped them come back from their injury and/or surgery.

Special Assistance Fund
This scholarship is given to the athletic training student who has shown unusual financial difficulties and strain associated with their role as an athletic trainer. This scholarship is given to any student who has been in the program for one year or more. This athletic training student may have an unusual financial situation with their family, may have had to hold a job to supplement their own finances, fund their own collegiate experience among other reasons to warrant a financial need. Applicant must have the minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the semester in which they are applying.

Adam Sturlese Memorial Sports Medicine Award
The family of Mr. Adam Sturlese, the founder of Acadian Ambulance in joint effort with Acadian Ambulance, has donated a $2000 scholarship in his memory. Mr. Sturlese was a graduate of LSU in 1947 with a degree in Geology. As founder and owner of Acadian Ambulance, the family understands the importance that the medical community plays in the success of our football program. This scholarship represents the value that our Athletic Trainers play in the health of our student-athletes.

The recipient of this scholarship is voted most outstanding Football Athletic Training Student who possesses a strong work ethic and continues to excel in the field of Athletic Training regardless of obstacles. They have a positive attitude and a strong determination to work with their peers as a "team" not as an individual. They are appreciative of others and always offer a helping hand. They are role models in the classroom despite the hours that are devoted to the football and athletic training programs. This Athletic Training Student is relied upon and trusted by all football staff, graduate assistants and fellow peers.

Tiger Cub Award
This scholarship is given to the incoming Pre-Professional athletic training student who acquires the highest binding score on their application process into the Athletic Training Curriculum Program. This student will be a first year athletic training student in our program. They will have met and exceeded all requirements for entrance into the curriculum program. They showed poise and maturity throughout the interview process and have left the staff with the confidence that they will continue to represent our program with dignity and class.

Football Operation Athletic Training Summer Internship
Two full scholarship positions are available for athletic training students interested in obtaining additional experience in the football athletic training room setting. These individuals are required to be enrolled in six (6) credit hours for the summer, in either session. A one-page letter of interest that states why you would like to obtain this position as well as any other pertinent information would be reviewed as part of application.

Dr. Champ Baker Athletic Training Award
Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Champ Baker of the Hughston Clinic has a long standing and mutual respect for the profession of Athletic Training. For years, he has worked closely with atheletic trainers and student athletes in providing the quality of care that gets the athletes back to elite status. He has endowed a chair in Athletic Training at The Hughston Foundation that will provide a scholarship to either an undergraduate or graduate SEC athletic trainer who has gone above and beyond the normal requirements that are expected of their job.
